Thomson Ecology is the company responsible for surveying for badgers and sett locations prior to the Welsh Assembly badger killing due to start any day now, i.e. these people are finding out where the badgers are and where best to trap them, then passing the information directly onto the badger killers at WAG who will cage trap them and shoot them. Thomson Ecology may as well be pulling the trigger! read full story / add a comment

Should there be a demo against Armed Forces Day on June 26 in Cardiff? The second British Armed Forces Day is being held in Cardiff on June the 26th. This is, of course, a state militarist parade justifying the crimes in Afghanistan and Iraq, promoting the patriotic poison amongst the general public which largely does not support the war. top CON-DEM politicians are of course going to be at this event. http://www.armedforcesday.org.uk/National.aspx read full story / add a comment

Could be interesting. Two groups of people that haven’t got out on the streets to fight the EDL yet are the West Indians and Somalis. Cardiff has well established communities of both and signs are some sections are mobilising for Saturday with talk of 80 taxi drivers turning up for example.Radicalism seems to have vanished from West Indian politics here since the street riots of the 70s and 80s so what happens in Cardiff will be hopefully be a return to the streets. All depends on whether they are able to act autonomously or walk into the pens with the UAF and bleat slogans. Anyway here’s an update from Adamski – keep ‘em coming mate: read full story / add a comment

Today, a 50-strong international bike ride begins the 400 mile journey from a community resisting Britain’s largest open cast coal mine in Merthyr Tydfil, Wales to County Mayo, Ireland, where local people have spent the last ten years fighting a Shell-led gas development. We aim to offer direct support to these two local campaigns resisting the fossil fuel industry. read full story / add a comment

Just to keep people updated - we were in court today for a first hearing in front of a magistrate. Nothing much of note except that the case has now been sent to a crown court and the next hearing will be on 20th May at Merthyr Crown Court at 11am. Any support would as ever be much appreciated. read full story / add a comment
