"...I'm Mad as Hell and I'm not gonna take it anymore!"

You've heard the line, now see the film. Bristol Anarchist Federation and Friends present Cult Classic and Multi Award Winning "Network" (1976).

Every bit as potent as it was when released, this film satire about the uses and abuses of Network media is even more scarily believable now as it was then.

Featuring Oscar winning performances from Peter Finch, Faye Dunaway and Beatrice Straight, also starring Robert Duvall & William Holden and an oscar winning script, a TV network cynically exploits a deranged ex-TV anchor's ravings and revelations about the media for their own profit.

In the 1970s (as today), terrorist violence is the stuff of networks' nightly news programming and the corporate structure of the UBS Television Network is changing. Meanwhile, Howard Beale, the aging UBS news anchor, has lost his once strong ratings share and so the network fires him. Beale reacts in an unexpected way. We then see how this affects the fortunes of Beale, his co-workers, and the network.
