A film looking at why students and workers should march against austerity in the coming months.

Occupy, Strike, Resist 2012

As we’ve seen from the student victory in Quebec, the possibility of winning the struggle against austerity is very real.

With this in mind, various student groups in Bristol are building for the next big national demo. As the international Capitalist crisis has worsened the connection between the student struggle and that of various groups both in the UK and around the world has been drawn into stark relief. Calls for a general strike are getting louder, and the next few months sees two national demonstrations taking place in London.

This short film asks the question ‘why should students and workers march against the government’s austerity measures in the coming months’?

The film focuses mainly on the student movement that sprang up in response to education cuts, with interviewees giving an account of it’s short history and explaining it’s connection to the broader struggle against austerity.

TUC Demo: 20th October 2012, London
