Job vacancy at recycling project and workers co-operative

Bristol Wood Recycling Project is looking for a new site manager to take responsibility for our wood yard and shop, working within a self-organised co-operative structure, and doing your bit to save resources and helping make Bristol more environmentally conscious and sustainable.
If you love all sorts of different woods, people, weather, problems and co-operative solutions, then this is a job for you. You will need to be reasonably fit, capable of mental maths, IT literate, pragmatic and cool under pressure, creative, have an eye for detail, and a real team player.

The basic job details mean you work 4 days per week (Tuesday to Friday) from 8.45am to 5.15pm, plus one Saturday in seven from 9.45am to 4.30pm. BWRP is an eight year old environmental project dedicated to saving resources (wood) through operating a wood waste collection service, and then reclaiming & recycling the wood. We are a not for profit social enterprise, and since last December we have re-organised ourselves to operate as a workers co-operative.
BWRP is based on a disused brownfield site behind Temple Meads station. Apart from our first 2 years here being rent-free, we remain entirely self-funded, nobody pulls our strings and we have no debts. The area we are located in is now known as the Temple Quarter Enterprise Zone, and is likely to attract all sorts of tax breaks and relaxation of planning regulations. This may or may not benefit us, but exciting changes are likely in the next few years, including the possible further development of our yard and storage structures. Fancy a challenge? Get on board.
