EDL Nazi Salutes

So the nazi salute is just a hand gesture similar to any other hand gesture. That just shows your clear lack of intelligence. It is a gesture of hatred and is made for no other reason than to show your disgust at those different to yourself. Memebrs of the EDL or people associated with EDL who make such gestures and spout their bigoted opinions are no different than muslim clerics who do similar things. Preaching haterd towards other people for no reason other than their beliefs and views are different to others. What imbeciles the world is full of !

A seig heil may be offensive but it is not actually harming anyone (other than the reputation of the EDL). It should not be an arrestable offence, any more than any other hand gesture. Allowing these chavs to show their true colours was the best police tactic here.

You've already made a start on that with you anti-intellectualism.

Anti-intelluctualism is what has dragged the left into a quandry.

The left used to be about writing and planning a coherent alternative as much as action.

And those who did the writing were working class as often as not.

Now it seems like anything other than action which involves using a brain is derided.

Oddly similar to the EDL in that sense.

Police brutality against unarmed protesters yesterday was sickening,,, Spanish Miners have recently decided against allowing 'only' cops being armed,, they've got busy in their engineering workshops & driven the filth out of their villages... We too have to rid our streets of fascists & their state protectors... food for thought ?

Seriously? It hasn't even been one day, and already people who are on the same side are bickering over spelling mistakes and intellectually belittling each other.

Some people make typos. It's a comment on indymedia, it's not a PhD thesis.

Some people aren't highly literate. Not everyone has that privilege, stop rubbing yours in other people's faces.

Not everyone is massively 'intelligent' (whatever that means). The same way that not everyone is athletic, or socially functional, or pretty, or whatever the hell else society says we're meant to be. Get over it and stop making petty, spiteful comments at each other, when we should be celebrating what was achieved yesterday, and discussing what we can learn for the future (because not everything DID go brilliantly, and there are ways to improve).

Otherwise, we might as well just get back to calling each other 'hippy liberals' and 'f*cking Trots' and 'anarchist hijackers' again, and really undo all the work that's be done to bring people together over the past few months.

they mention edl refused to take down their masks, well...we refuse to take down ours. This isnt
any different. This logical failing make's me question your intelligence as well.
