Bristol antifascists and friends have been out and about over the last two months warning people of the coming EDL march and encouraging mass opposition.

We've covered a lot of ground and after many conversations with people all over the city, I think we can confidently say that the EDL are in for a nasty surprise and an embarassment which they will not want to try to repeat. Everywhere the response from people has been "No way will they march in our city without trouble", "We have to stop them" or similar words to that effect. It's not just going to be a few antifascists determined to stop them. It's likely to be thousands. Many people clearly see through the attempts by police to intimidate us off the streets and the many youth we have spoken with will certainly not be following their community leaders' requests for them to stay away and just ignore the racists. Because people understand that when it comes to fighting racism and fascism, we have to step out, make a stand, stay solid together and show that the streets are ours. Zero tolerance of racism and fascism. Help make sure the EDL wished they never came to Bristol.

Temple Meads area. 11am. Line the streets. Be ready...
