Bristol City Council has spent between ??£150,00 and ??£200,000 fighting the judicial review brought by residents against the councils decision to refuse to recognise that the fields at the back of their houses were a town and village green. The council relied upon the views of an unqualified accountant rather than refer the evidence to an independent inspector. This was unlawful and the council now admits it acted unlawfully. I invite all indymedia readers to ensure that the truth about this unlawful waste of money is discovered - i believe that there may have been collusion with the football club. All of this is well covered on the blogs but foi requests are just not dealt with properly by the council. If you want the truth then there must be an independent review by the council's independent auditors Grant Thornton. Please write to john.golding@uk.gt.com and demand an investigation
