Come down and try some authentic, global street food at St. Paul’s Carnival

Authentic street food from around the world will be the flavour of the day at St. Paul’s Carnival this weekend. The StrEAT Food Collective will be taking over Grosvenor Gardens on the junction of Grosvenor Road and Ashley Road and serving hot and delicious street food dishes.

StrEAT is Bristol’s global street food collective serving dishes from Thailand, India, Spain, Indonesia, Jamaica and other countries from 11am until 9pm. Families will also be able to enjoy a more peaceful space and there will be activities for kids.

StrEAT is the initiative of cultural events company, Coconut Chilli Digital. The collective consists of between six to ten stalls and vendors are people from local communities who are passionate about food and will be serving up ‘the real deal’.  The vendors will be encouraged to stick to food portions costing around £5 and there will be smaller portions for children.

Navina Bartlett, Coconut Chilli Digital stated;

“We were approached by St. Paul’s Carnival as the ethos of our vibrant StrEAT Food Collective, bringing lots of different communities together, is exactly what happens down in St. Paul’s during carnival.”

The street food scene in London is becoming really popular and the vendors businesses are thriving. Mobile street food vendors are a regular fixture at locations such as Exmouth Market in Farringdon and are even springing up in unique locations like London Zoo.

Navina Bartlett, Coconut Chilli Digital concluded;

“Carnival-goer’s will have the opportunity to taste dishes like pad thai noodles from Thailand, South India ‘dosa’ pancakes and mouth-watering churros with chocolate sauce from Spain”.

The StrEAT Food Collective will be serving food between 11am and 9pm on Grosvenor Gardens on the junction of Grosvenor Road and Ashley Road, on Saturday 2nd July.
