The Cornwall Wildlife Trust is a charity - founded in 1962 - and fulfils a role occupied by no other countryside organisation. We are concerned solely with Cornwall and deal with all aspects of conserving the county's wildlife and habitats. We have already established many nature reserves, in which examples of each of Cornwall's habitats may give refuge to nationally rare and endangered species.

Protecting and enhancing our environment has never been more important, it is the key message in Cornwall Wildlife Trust's manifesto, recently issued to prospective parliamentary and county council candidates throughout Cornwall.

Quiz your local candidate on the environmental issues and concerns.

We are always hard at work raising money. One of the fund-raising activities close to our hearts is raising money to buy important sites. Particularly when they are threatened with destruction by reclamation and development.

As a charity we receive no regular government aid and depend on the support of people who care about wildlife and our Cornish countryside.

We currently have a membership of over 13,000. Quite a few of our members don't actually live in Cornwall at all, but either visit, have lived here before or have strong Cornish connections. Some members live as far away as Australia!
